Jessie Lee Stanford Hembree

Services for Mrs. Hembree will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Leeville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, and 11 a.m. until services Thursday.

Mrs. Hembree, 80, of Lebanon, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at McKendree Health Care. She was a member of Leeville United Methodist Church. She was a retail sales associate and a preschool teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wesley and Deborah Hounsell Stanford; her husband, the Rev. Fred Buis Hembree Sr.; a daughter, Nancy Leah Hembree; a great-grandson, Jonathan Cole Wood; and a grandson, Tyler Cracraft Church.

Survivors include: a daughter, Jane Hembree (Mickie) Crowley of Knoxville; two sons, the Rev. John Wesley (Linda) Hembree of Lebanon and Dr. Fred (Dr. Debbie Church) Hembree of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Ethel Gagnon, Hetty Mae (William) Mort and Martha Winifred Pray; five brothers, Albert Lee (Leona) Stanford, Charles Wesley (Doris) Stanford Jr., Edward Lenard (Beverly) Stanford, Earl Joseph (Cathy) Stanford and Allen Frank Stanford; 10 grandchildren, Charles Allison "Chip" (Sandra) Reeves III, Christina Davis, Jason Pruitt (Sherry) Sparks, Shannon LeeAnn (Jarrod) Beazley, Linda Michelle (Jonathan) Wood, Jonathan Wesley Hembree, Benjamin Harrison Hembree, Rebekah Leah Hembree, Matthew Allan Lovejoy and Ryan Shepard (Amanda) Church; 12 great-grandchildren, Leah Grace Beazley, Megan Hope Yates, Logan Wesley Yates, Ryan Chandler Wood, Shelby Sparks, Autumn Lea Hembree, Cameron James Hembree, Clayton Harrison Hembree, Riley Willow Church, Kathleen Griffin, Brianna Davis and Faith Davis; three sister-in-laws, Katie Jo VanHoozer and Maude Ellen Hembree of Houston, Texas and Lucille Roberts Hembree of Quebeck, Tenn; and family member Debbie Sparks Maynard and family.

Pallbearers will be Chip Reeves, Jarrod Beazley, Jonathan Wood, Jonathan Hembree, Benji Hembree and Jason Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday school class and friends of Leeville UMC and friends at McKendree Village.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Leeville UMC 7019 Hickory Ridge oad, Lebanon, TN 37090.

Roy Allen "Sonny" Raines

Services for Mr. Raines were 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Gillispie and the Rev. Barry Ellis officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, Tenn.

Mr. Raines, 67, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and retired from the City of Lebanon Electric Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas W. Raines, Naomi Hale Raines Pickler and Ira Pickler.

Survivors include: wife of nearly 40 years, Eugenia Vanhook Raines; children, Douglas (Becky) Turner Raines, of Castalian Springs, Jeremiah (Holly) Raines, of Lebanon, and Bethany (Maj. Brian) Locke, of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; brothers, Doug (Anne) Raines, of Mt. Juliet, Billy Joe (Connie) Pickler and Raymond Pickler, all of Lebanon; sisters, Elma Jean (Jerry) Contine, of California, and Delores Crooks, of Lebanon and five grandchildren.
