As winners of Rack Room Shoes’ 10th anniversary Models Wanted contest, two area siblings are now featured in the national footwear retailer’s Back to School advertising campaign.

Sisters Camy and Claire Stout, of Murfreesboro, are currently featured on the Rack Room Shoes’ website, advertising inserts and display signage in more than 385 retail stores nationwide.

In addition, the Stout family received $5,000 from Rack Room Shoes to donate to the charity of their choice. They selected the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, the only national volunteer health agency dedicated solely to the fight against myasthenia gravis.

The Stout sisters presented their donation Wednesday at the Rack Room Shoes location at the Lebanon Premium Outlets.

“At first we didn’t know about the whole charity thing,” said Camy Stout, 19. “I got with Claire and told her we needed to pick a charity to donate the $5,000.

“A friend of ours has that disease, and I went to the MG walk last year. So it was kind of a no brainer.”

For the past decade, Rack Room Shoes has featured real customers – instead of professional models – in all of its seasonal advertisements, selected through the retailer’s annual Models Wanted contest. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the program, Rack Room Shoes invited winners from the last 10 years to enter for a chance to return as models.

Camy and Claire Stout, who previously modeled Back to School fashions for the retailer in 2011, entered during the contest’s call for former models in 2013. The sisters were among the top-voted families on the Rack Room Shoes’ Facebook page, securing their spot as subjects of the annual Back to School campaign.

It was kind of weird, because it was online voting, and I don’t really like online voting,” said Camy Stout, who is a student at Middle Tennessee State University. “I didn’t even vote for myself.

“I got a call from Charlotte, N.C., and I don’t know anyone from Charlotte, so I didn’t even answer the phone. I was surprised when I listened to the voice mail and them telling me we had won.”

The sisters took a trip to Charlotte to do the photo shoot during the first week in May.

“Now that I’m in college, it’s hard to find time to hang out with my younger sister,” Camy Stout said. “The Models Wanted photo shoot was even more special the second time around because our time together is that much more valuable. These are memories we will always cherish.”

As for younger sister, Claire, the 14 year old said she wouldn’t mind exploring modeling further.

“I don’t know if there are as many opportunities as far as my age goes, but I’d like to do it again,” Claire Stout said.
