With less than two weeks until the annual Wilson County Friends of NRA Banquet, members of the Lebanon High School JROTC Color Guard and Lebanon Police Department Honor Guard rehearsed the flag ceremony to be performed.

Members of the Lebanon High School team include Connor Reed, Delanie Carmack, Dylan Gardner and Karianna Shearl under the leadership of Master Sgt. Krystall Lindsay and Air Force retired Maj. Cal Sims.  Lebanon Police Department Honor Guard team members who will participate in the event are Elvis Huff, Glenn Johnson, Keith Maddox and Jeff Pickens. Also on the team are Joe Nokes, Jerimy Pruitte, David Willmore and Jeremy Johnson.

Friends of NRA is a non-political, nonprofit grassroots fundraising program that gives 100 percent of the net proceeds to qualified safety and educational programs, such as JROTC, Boy Scouts, clay target and air rifle youth shooting teams, Second Amendment training, law enforcement, Women on Target, Refuse To Be A Victim program and Eddie Eagle GunSafe program.  In February, Tennessee Friends of NRA approved 93 grants totaling more than $300,000 to organizations across Tennessee with $1.5 million in funding to date.

The local committee, Wilson County Friends of NRA works throughout the year to raise funds and foster community involvement.  Both Lebanon High School and Lebanon police were among the groups in Wilson County that submitted grant requests and received funding from Tennessee Friends of NRA.
