Amelia Airdog is a 4-year-old, 51-pound, yellow, Labrador retriever mix. This sweet girl came to New Leash pregnant and shortly after arriving delivered seven healthy puppies. Her puppies have all been adopted, and it’s now time for Amelia to be in the spotlight. She is a sweet, gentle girl who enjoys being with people and appears to get along with other dogs. She is partially house trained. When Amelia first arrived she was suffering from demodectic mange, but she has been treated and is recovering nicely. Amelia faced another challenge too – she had a heart murmur which, if left untreated, would have drastically shortened her life. She recently had surgery to correct the murmur and is on the road to a full recovery so she can live a wonderful and long life she deserves. Come and meet Amelia. Amelia can be adopted for $85. Amelia is spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside, especially at night.
Yang is an 8-month-old, 6.5-pound, black-and-white domestic shorthair kitty. She came to New Leash on Life along with Ying and Jewel, looking for their forever homes. Yang has just arrived and has adjusted great to all the changes in her life. She’s friendly and loves hanging out in the different cat condos in our open cat room. Yang is litter-box trained, spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. She can be adopted for $100. All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.
Not sure if you’re ready to commit to adoption? Ask about New Leash on Life’s seven-day sleepover program for dogs and cats. If you already have your limit of four-legged family members, consider becoming a ‘Guardian’ to help homeless pets each month. Cotton Candy is a sweet German shepherd mix about 3-4 years old, which is calm and mild-mannered. She was found as a skinny stray, but her weight is now good, and she is healthy. She is spayed, current on shots and heartworm negative. Cotton gets along fine with other dogs and has met office cats with no problem. She does not mess in her kennel area, so she should be fine with housetraining to a new home. Cotton is a beautiful lady and would make a calm and enjoyable companion pet. For information on Cotton Candy, contact Country K-9 Rescue at 615-444-8011.
Axie is a sweet kitty and a pretty kitty all rolled into one. She is about 1 year old, a buff-colored tabby, found as a stray but in her foster home. She is friendly to all people, children and dogs. Axie is healthy, spayed, current on shots and tested leukemia negative. This is a cat that will move into your home and be comfortable quickly as a family pet. For information on adopting Axie, contact the foster, Jennie, at 615-210-2268.
