The new school times posed a problem for some of the bus routes in Wilson County for the first day of school Thursday.

According to Nashville’s News 2, Taylor Ashford, of Liberty Road in Wilson County, was not picked up from his bus stop Thursday morning.

Taylor, a first-grade student at Watertown Elementary, was supposed to catch his bus at 5:20 a.m. His sister, who goes to Watertown High School, was also not picked up.

Wilson County Director of Schools Tim Setterlund said that issues with how early the buses are running this year have raised a lot of questions and he said that is something he hoped could be looked into further in the future.

According to Setterlund, the bus driver didn’t drive down the street the Ashfords live on and that’s why they were left.

“The bus driver has called and apologized to the family,” Setterlund said.
