Kevin Lester, chairman of the board of directors for Friendship Christian School, announced recently the appointment of three new board members.

With backgrounds in fields ranging from business to health care, the new members include Dr. Scott Baker, Wendy Haley and Roger Ramsey.

“I am very pleased with the appointment and thankful to each for their dedication to our school,” said Jon Shoulders, president of Friendship Christian School. “Each brings their own unique qualities of mind and spirit to the board, a combination of traits that will enabled them to realize the visions for the school and prepare us for the future. It is an honor to have them on the board at Friendship Christian School.”

Baker is a board certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain medicine and electro-diagnostic medicine who has his own private practice, Tennessee Physical Medicine and Pain Management.

Baker received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Louisville. He performed his four-year physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

Baker serves on a leadership advisory council at the school. He and his wife, Jean Ellen, are the parents of three children, Jolin a junior, Noah a freshman, and Emmy, a fifth-grader at Friendship. They live in Lebanon and are members of the Providence United Methodist Church.

Hailey works in industrial engineering at Lochinvar, LLC and holds an associate’s degree in industrial and mechanical engineering from Nashville State Community College. She was involved with the Topsiders Parent Organization at Friendship for more than 14 years. She has helped plan and coordinate Commander Night and Commander Run. She and her husband, Terry, are the parents of two children, Kelsey, a 2011 Friendship graduate, and Gracey, a sophomore at Friendship. They live in Lebanon and are members of Crossroads Community Church.

Ramsey, a CPA who serves as a health care financial consultant for Reimbursement Recovery, Inc., holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. Ramsey and his wife, Patty, are the parents of two children, Katie, a 2013 Friendship graduate, and Cade, a sophomore at Friendship. They live in Mt. Juliet and are members of the Glade Church in Gladeville.

The new members join Friendship Christian board of directors Lester; vice chair Bill Bryson; treasurer and secretary Anne Frost; Van Cluck; Dr. Bill Robertson; and Dr. George Robertson.

“Forty years ago, thanks to the vision and generosity of the founders, Friendship Christian School embarked upon an educational journey that would nurture the God-given potential of every child that passed through its doors,” Shoulders said. “Our new directors embrace this spirit and are committed to providing a balanced holistic education rooted in Christ centered principles – an education focused on the whole child, mind, body and soul.”
