The passage of a motion to ban a book from any reading lists in Wilson County Schools has caused a stir.
According to Board Chair Don Weathers, copies of the book in question, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time,” removed from circulation in the schools.
“The books are still in the schools, but they are not in possession of the kids,” Weathers said Wednesday. “Hopefully, we will have a solution worked out within the next 24 to 48 hours.”
The motion, as passed Monday, reads, “That we ban this book [“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”] from any reading list in Wilson County Schools.”
The motion was made by board member Wayne McNeese, who had brought up an issue with some of the language contained in the book. It was seconded by Weathers.
