A minor fender bender involving a car and a school bus caused Lebanon students to arrive home later than normal Tuesday afternoon.
Director of Schools Scott Benson said a car apparently backed out of a driveway and into a passing school bus after schools had dismissed on Meadow Lane near Byars Dowdy Elementary School.
Benson said students were delayed about 30 minutes while another bus was dispatched to pick up the students and continue the route.
“That’s standard procedure that when a bus involved in an accident with another vehicle,” Benson said. “Another bus takes those students home.”
Benson said the bus suffered a scratch on the driver’s side back fender, and there was “some damage” to the car.
“Both vehicles drove off after it was all said and done,” he said.
