Wilson County Deputy Director of Schools Mickey Hall said the district would hold open house ceremonies Nov. 5 and Nov. 28 for Watertown Elementary School and Southside School, respectively.
Watertown Elementary School construction includes a new 800-student dining room and kitchen area that will serve as a central point for a connector between the two current buildings. The existing gym will be expanded to full size.
Southside School’s newer gym will be converted into a band room and two science labs, while the older gym will become an auditorium. A new 800-seat gym will be added to the school, along with new locker rooms and two new classrooms.
The district unveiled renovations at Tuckers Crossroads School and Gladeville Elementary School earlier this year.
Tuckers Crossroads renovations included a renovated gym, two-story wing addition, which includes seven classrooms, two computer labs, a science lab and a sports dressing room.
Gladeville Elementary School received a six-classroom addition in the school’s rear, along with a renovated gym.
