Mt. Juliet police released the names Wednesday evening of those involved in a head-on collision Tuesday night on Lebanon Road near the Mt. Juliet Little League baseball fields.
According to police, a 2002 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Justin Odom, 22, of Lebanon, was traveling eastbound when he hit head on a 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by Timothy Cole, 49, of Old Hickory. A 2006 Mazda M3, driven by Kristina Wilkerson, 22, of Mt. Juliet, rear-ended the Explorer following impact with the pickup.
LifeFlight paramedics took Odom by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition at the time. Cole and a passenger, Tracie Cole, 43, of Old Hickory, were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance also in critical condition. Wilkerson was treated at the scene and released by paramedics.
A hospital spokesperson said Wednesday evening Odom was in critical but stable condition. Timothy Cole was in stable condition, and Tracie Cole was treated and released from the hospital Tuesday night.
Police said a witness who saw the crash happen said the pickup fishtailed while traveling eastbound on Lebanon Road prior to hitting the Explorer head on. Police said the initial investigation revealed Odom’s first contributing action to the crash was “failure to keep in the proper lane.”
The wreck happened at about 8:50 p.m. Police closed Lebanon Road for about two hours while a crash reconstructionist investigated the crash.
