Firefighters arrived at 556 Mires Road in the Gladeville community to find a log home with heavy black smoke and flames from the roof of the back section.
While fighting the fire inside the building, they discovered most of the fire was inside the attic and walls of the lower level of the house, which made it had to reach and extinguish.
Additional units were called in to assist once the fire was assessed.
The fire was brought under control, and some crews remained on the scene to extinguish any potential hot spots.
At about 2 a.m., all crews involved in fighting the fire returned to their stations. There were no injuries reported in the fire.
According to WEMA director Joey Cooper, Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp. workers, Wilson County sheriff’s deputies, Mt. Juliet firefighters and Rehab 23 volunteers gave assistance.
