Lebanon police charged four suspects after an apparent burglary at the Lebanon Premium Outlets early Sunday morning.
Lebanon police Chief Scott Bowen said police received an alarm at the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet store at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday. While in route to the store, Officer Joe Bowen spotted a vehicle leaving the mall, so he pulled it over and spoke to the driver, Tony T. Bowen, 19, of Memphis.
“The story that he told when he was stopped didn’t add up,” said Bowen.
As Officer Bowen was speaking to the driver, the driver’s cellphone rang several times, according to Chief Bowen.
Police soon found three other suspects as they were leaving the woods between the Shell station and the Best Value Inn.
“Once we discovered them, we discovered all the merchandise,” said Chief Bowen.
He said officers recovered about $7,000 worth of merchandise.
Police charged Tony Bowen with burglary and criminal responsibility. Police also charged Bronson A. Clay, Jr., 19, Matthew N. Rickett, 20, and Nicholas T. Wright, 21, each with burglary and theft over $500.
“Officer Bowen was there in less than 2 minutes,” said Chief Bowen. “The quick response is what caught them.”
