Wilson County Crime Stoppers has issued a reward of up to $1,000 for information about a fatal shooting from October.

On Oct. 12, Police Chief Scott Bowen said officers responded to a shots-fired call just before 2:30 a.m. at 15 Joseph Street and arrived to find the body of Ronald Lyn Johnson, Sr., 43, lying in the street.

Bowen said investigators believe Johnson was in the area to buy narcotics. He said a large crowd was gathered at the time of the shooting.

More than a month later, Bowen said police were still working on the case.

“We’re still working it, and we believe numerous people saw what happened and know what happened, and now we just need them to come forward,” Bowen said. “It’s frustrating to us knowing that there are witnesses out there.”

On Nov. 21, Lebanon police more than doubled the reward amount to $2,500 for information that leads to a conviction in the shooting death of Johnson.

Initially, police issued a reward of $1,000 Oct. 22.

Police still believe there are multiple witnesses to the shooting and anyone with information should contact Wilson County Sheriff’s Department at 615-444-1459 or Wilson County Crime Stoppers at 615-444-5245. Callers will remain anonymous.
