Richard Parker appeared for his first court date Tuesday morning before Judge John Wootten Jr., where a trial date was set for October.

He is accused of killing his in-laws, Jon and Marion Setzer, in a bombing Feb. 10 at their home on Vance Lane in Lebanon. He is charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, two counts of felony first-degree murder and one count of unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon.

Parker, 49, was arraigned Feb. 18, where he pleaded not guilty.

On Tuesday, Wootten expressed his intent to move the case along and set a trial date for Oct. 28.

Parker will make his next court appearance June 20 for a motions hearing.

Attorneys on both sides said they are still reviewing investigative reports, as well as waiting on DNA and explosive reports from state and federal crime labs that could take up to two months.
