Nashville Metro narcotics detectives assigned to the specialized investigations division Wednesday arrested two Texas men as they allegedly attempted to drop off a 56-pound load of compressed marijuana at a Madison storage facility.
Lazaro Munoz, 43, of Roma, Texas, and Richards A. Owens, 36, of Needville, Texas, remained in jail Friday morning on $100,000 bond each on charges of possessing the four bundles of marijuana for resale.
The investigation revealed Munoz and Owens arrived in Nashville and checked in at a Nashville motel before heading to the storage facility on S. Gallatin Pike in a Ford F-350 pickup truck. Detectives arrested the two men inside one of the storage units. With them was a black bag containing the marijuana, detectives said.
