Suspect held in connection to Sunday morning killing

JACKSON – Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents charged a suspect Sunday accused in connection with an early morning killing.


With the assistance of the Camden Police Department and at the request of 24th District Attorney General Hansel McCadams, TBI special agents started an investigation involving the shooting death of a 47-year-old man Sunday morning. Authorities found the body at a home in Camden. Investigators arrested Eddie Lee Laws, 52, of Camden, a suspect believed to be involved in the shooting. 


Laws was booked in at the Benton County Jail for felon in unlawful possession of a weapon.


As the case develops, the possibility exists for additional charges for Laws, agents said. Laws was held without bond until his first court appearance. The motivation, relationship between the two men and the circumstances of the incident remained under investigation, agents said. 


The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
