A Nashville man was charged in a May 2 arrest when Wilson County sheriff’s detectives were able to stop a violent robbery before it happened.

Mark Douglas Holloway Sr., 54, was arrested at the Fast Track on South Mt. Juliet Road after detectives uncovered information of his intent to carry out a robbery at an undisclosed location. Detectives intercepted Holloway prior to the attempt, and he was charged with criminal attempt, taken to the Wilson County Jail and booked on $5,000 bond. He was released Monday on bond, according to jail booking records.

“I applaud the response from our criminal investigations division in apprehending this criminal after uncovering information of a possible robbery attempt that was going to take place,” said Sheriff Robert Bryan. “Mr. Holloway has a very lengthy criminal history, and our investigators prevented a violent situation from occurring. The investigation will remain active, and further evidence that is obtained will be presented to a grand jury at a later date.”
