Fall Preview: How Do You See Fall in Your Closet?

This fall is no different!  Texture! Texture! and more texture!  But texture is incorporated in so many different ways, from color mixes to pattern mixes to types of materials.  Here are your top fall trends for 2013:  how do you see fall in your closet?

VEGAN LEATHER has taken the fashion industry by storm!  No matter if you have it as trim on a hat, a panel on a blouse or vegan leather trousers, it is the must- have item this fall.

EMERALD GREEN is the Pantone Colour of the Year 2013, and no matter how you wear this beautiful color, you will fall in love with it!  Don’t want to wear an emerald green blazer or the thought of emerald green trousers makes you think of plaid golf pants, no problem!  You will find emerald green mixed with navy for a modern and feminine touch, or you can place this pop of color as an accessory such as a scarf, handbag or even shoes.  Remember, rich jewel tone complements garnet, amethyst and sapphire.

LAYERING When we think of layering images of a puffy down coat with a scarf, hat and gloves with three shirts comes to mind, but that is not what we’re talking about when we think of modern layering.  Think of soft- knit sweaters, bold stripe tops and floral print scarves.  You don’t have to have a solid skirt or trouser; you can bend or break the pattern rules!  Keep a few things in mind, monochromatic is great when mixing patterns.  Mix colors, but keep the same color palette in all of the patterns.  Don’t want to wear pattern everywhere?  That is okay!  Have an animal print skirt, solid top and floral print scarf. You can make your own rules!

OUTERWEAR is always important because of function, but what about style?  It does not matter if it is a cool vegan leather moto jacket or a long wool trench, outerwear is just as important to your style as the layers underneath.  You will find color to incorporate with your style, or you can wear a more traditional black jacket and punch it up with a scarf or a brightly colored fashion pin.  Don’t forget to have fun with your outerwear.

Keep in mind, just a few minor updates to your existing wardrobe will punch up the color, style and fashion.  But most importantly, have fun!
