Let’s Immerse Ourselves in All Things Women

Laurie Everett • Dec 17, 2015 at 5:21 PM

Let’s ditch whatever, grab a girlfriend and indulge ourselves at Every Woman’s Expo Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at Charlie Daniels Community Center.  We sponsor the event, but even if we didn’t, you know I’d be there! My daughter, Makaylah, is making a special birthday weekend trip here from UT Chattanooga to attend the event with me. We are celebrating both our birthdays this weekend. And while we are decades apart, we both celebrate our womaness and want to be knee-deep in skin care, fashion, health and home styling! This event is all about women, for women.

I’m dress-less this weekend because a fellow employee saw me in a dress bought from Lu Lu’s on the Lebanon square and almost ripped it off my body when she saw it. “Where did you get that dress?” she shouted from down the hall. Needless to say, she loved the maxi-length bohemian styled dress and I met her at the Mt. Juliet Publix Saturday morning so she could borrow it. She’s built way more voluptuous than me, so that tells you how versatile the dress is. There are tons of fab fashions at Lu Lu’s you must check out. They will be at the Expo with some of the best fashions ready for you to buy.

Speaking of indulging ourselves, check out Gourmet to You in our area. This local company will brush off the stress when it matters most. They are a home delivery and catering service that will make our worries disappear. Check them out at the Expo.

I always try to be unique. I will divulge one of my go-to places  – Jamie Kelly’s Charm Company.  It has the most unique lockets. You must check it out.

And ladies, isn’t it about time? I know, we’ve been putting it off, but at the Expo Saturday there will be experts on hand to talk about injectables like Botox. Why not listen and learn and maybe turn back the hands of time a few years?

Finally, we all throw out a couple pumpkins and basket of mums on our front step each fall. We love the season. But, how about something a little different, for, only a little dent in our pocketbook.” Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Women’s Expo, Hale Moss from Moss’ will conduct a seminar about fall decorating. If you are like me, you inhale his shop this time of year and try to recreate the fabulous decorations he has displayed, but to no avail. No need to fear. He will teach us his favorites at his seminar Saturday. We can go the easy route as well and purchase his fall creations.

See you there!
