Planned Parenthood chief to speak to Wilson County Democrats

Wilson County Democrats will play host to Jeff Teague, CEO and president of Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky on Monday 6:30 p.m. 

Teague is a native Tennessean with a degree in public administration, accounting and public finance from the University of Tennessee. Democrats will meet at the School House at the Wilson County Fairgrounds.

About 20,000 clients per year seek reproductive health care and education services at one of PPMET’s three centers in Nashville, Knoxville and Johnson City.

In 2006, Teague received the Association of Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education APPLE Tree Award for his commitment to sex education.  

Prior to joining PPMET, Teague held several positions in government, mainly in Washington, with former Vice President Al Gore, former President Bill Clinton, four presidential campaigns and the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he was deputy director of population health and nutrition and humanitarian relief programs.
