Forty local volunteers will help United Way of Wilson County decide how to spend recent campaign funds to help county nonprofit programs in late April and May.
However, first those volunteers will be trained about United Way and its’ partner agencies.
An annual process, local leaders came together Monday at the James Ward Agricultural Center to go over training materials, participating agency applications and to make plans for the upcoming allocations meetings.
Volunteers will meet for one of four nights and hear various agencies’ staff describe what they would do with funds from United Way and the extent of their need. Last year, UWWC helped support 32 local agencies.
