Henry Horton State Park celebrates its grand re-opening during August

Henry Horton State Park recently held a grand re-opening for the RV campground with state and local officials.
The renovated campground opened Aug. 1. Upgrades include wider and longer campsites, new pavement, new water and 50 amp electrical hookups. New amenities include fire rings, lantern poles, picnic tables and Wi-Fi. Visitors can reserve the RV campground sites at tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/henry-horton.
The park offers several lodging options, including an inn, eight cabins, 56 RV campsites, 10 tent campsites, nine primitive campsites and three backcountry campsites. There are also three group campsites available. The inn features The Governor’s Table Restaurant, which is open seven days a week.
Henry Horton is a 1,532-acre state park with four hiking trails, featuring an abundance of wildlife such as wild turkey, deer and many kinds of wildflowers. The park offers hours of family enjoyment whether it’s swimming in the Olympic-sized pool, paddling and fishing along the Duck River, playing volleyball or basketball or just having a picnic.
