A benefit fun horse show and tack sale for Donny Williams, who was injured in a horseback riding accident early this summer, will be Saturday at Rock Bottom Stables.
Proceeds from the day’s events, sponsored by Rock Bottom Saddle Club, will assist the Williams family with medical bills.
“Everyone is invited to come out and show, shop or watch,” said show organizer Zana Lauer. “We will have fun classes for all ages, the tack sale and a concession stand, and proceeds will benefit one of our boarders, saddle club members and good friends.”
The fun show will include classes, such as ride-a-buck, keyhole, water pistol cowboy mounted shooting, relay race, and more.
Classes will be divided by age group, including 12 and under, 13 through 17 and adult.
Prizes will be awarded in each category. Class fees are $5 per class or $25 for the day.
The show begins at 1 p.m. in the outdoor arena. For more information, copies of the show bill or to donate, call Lauer at 615-479-5260.
The consignment-style tack sale begins at 10 a.m. Quality saddles and show clothes are some of the items that will be available to shoppers. Participants are asked to bring their own tables or saddle racks and have items priced clearly.
A 10-percent minimum donation is requested in lieu of consignor’s fees. The sale will end around 1:30 p.m., in order to give sellers the chance to participate in the show, as well.
Anyone interested in consigning tack or other horse-related items should email Elizabeth Howe at email@example.com for more information prior to Saturday.
Rock Bottom Stables is located at 594B Northern Road in Mt. Juliet. Horse boarding and riding lessons continue to be offered by the stables.
The outdoor arena is available for practice at a cost of $10 per horse/rider when not in use by the saddle club. Rock Bottom Saddle Club begins its 2013 season Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. Visit Rock Bottom Stables and Rock Bottom Saddle Club on Facebook for additional information.
