Through weather fair and foul...

With the recent sub-freezing temperatures, most everyone wants to be indoors next to the fireplace or at least parked next to a heater.

For some workers, however, the job must be done no matter what the mercury is reading.

Such is the case for city of Lebanon sanitation workers, who brave the elements whether it is zero or 100 degrees.

"It doesn't matter what the temperature is, the job has got to be done. We've got to collect all the garbage," said Sanitation Supervisor Lorenzo Seay.

His department runs four trash trucks that have routes across the city. Seay said that by the time the workers have completed their routes and taken the full trucks down to the landfill in Murfreesboro, they have "logged enough miles to have driven to another state."

However, Seay said that many of the customers are appreciative of the work the sanitation department does and express their thanks to the different crews.

"It is always nice to hear that they are appreciated," Seay said.
