Encore Theatre Co. put on a special performance at the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library on Tuesday morning.

The company hit the stage at the library in front of children of all ages to put on “Aladdin,” the next show it will bring to the stage at the end of March.

Characters from the show took the audience on a magic carpet ride through the age-old tale of Aladdin and his journey from lazy peasant to prince.

A room full of attentive children sat laughing and engaged as characters, such as Aladdin, Yazoo and his pet snake, an evil magician, Princess Celestia and the genie, told the romantic and mysterious story.

“Aladdin,” written by Craig Sodaro and directed by Misty Embry, is set to hit the stage for a limited time March 22 and April 5 at 7:30 p.m., and March 23 and April 6 at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and older and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets are on sale at shop.encore-theatre-company.org.

The company is also set to put on productions of “Jubilee in the Rear View Mirror,” “The Unexpected Guest,” “The Coal Camp Madonna” and “The Great Nursing Home Escape” later this year.

Encore Theatre Co., a nonprofit community theatre serving Wilson County and surrounding areas, is at 6978 Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet.
