Watertown is in preparations for the 26th annual spring edition of the Mile-Long Yard Sale on Saturday.

Coordinator Jim Amero said there are at least 100 paid vendors who will set up on the square and along both ends of Main Street. The vendors will be ready for visitors by 7 a.m., and there are private homes, as well as nonprofit groups, that will also offer up choices for the savvy shopper.

“We’re looking forward to having them,” Amero said.

In addition to the bargains to be had all along the way, Watertown’s restaurants will also be open to offer up guests a little Southern hospitality. At Lulu’s Coffee House, visitors will be treated to a mid-morning performance by Lily Syracuse and her father, Buzzy Orange.

Businesses along Main Street will also be open.

With a forecast for temperatures in the 80s, Amero said “it’s looking good” for clear skies Saturday.

“This is a good way to highlight Watertown for folks to come back when there’s nothing going on,” Amero said, “to see the real Watertown.”

Parking will be available in church parking lots and at the schools for a small donation.

Amero said there’s something for everyone at the yard sale.

“There’ll be items coming out of barns, fresh from the barn, with the cobwebs on it,” he said.
