Swine and Dine set to benefit local Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop & Crew 360 will hold its Swine and Dine barbecue fundraiser Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Lebanon First United Methodist Church at 415 W. Main St.

Proceeds from the event will go for projects in the troop. Tickets are $8 for a barbecue sandwich meal, including a drink and dessert.

“This is our second year hosting this event,” said Bart Sims with the troop. “Last year, we were overwhelmed by the support shown to these boys from our community. Scouting gives boys an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others and build self-confidence. However, the cost of various camps and activities over the course of one year can quickly add up, especially for our troop with over forty active members. This fundraiser goes a long way in assuring our troop and crew has all needed supplies and expenses covered.”

Sims said part of the fundraiser will include a silent auction with several items up for bid, including several gift cards to local businesses, photography packages, merchandise from the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators and Nashville Sound, among others. Also included is a copy of the cookbook, “Miss Kay’s Duck Commander Kitchen,” autographed by Kay Robertson, “The Women of Duck Commander,” autographed by the Duck Dynasty women, and “Good Call,” autographed by Jase Robertson.

For more information, call Sims at 615-414-3823 or Mandy Mullinix at 615-260-5864.
