Cancer survivors invited to Relay for Life Survivor Brunch
May 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM
Before they inspire hope and support during the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event, local cancer survivors are invited to share a meal, fellowship and their experiences with one another at a special event in their honor Saturday.
The Survivor Brunch, an annual tradition in Wilson County leading up to Relay For Life, will take place at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lebanon with food provided by Michael’s Café.
John Harris, father of Castle Heights Elementary School cancer survivor Bobby Harris, will serve as the guest speaker. Anyone who has battled cancer is invited to attend the event with a caretaker, and advanced registration is requested through Yolanda Roberts at 615-631-2403. First United Methodist Church is at 415 W. Main St. in Lebanon.
Cancer survivors will also be part of the community-wide celebration at Relay For Life, which includes a survivor lap near the beginning of the evening. Relay For Life will take place June 6 from 6 p.m. until midnight behind the Wilson Bank & Trust main office in Lebanon.
