UPDATE: Tractor-trailer knocks out power

A tractor-trailer that hit a power pole caused an outage in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday night. 

According to the Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp. website, more than 1,700 residents are affected in the widespread outage across Mt. Juliet that was reported at about 8:40 p.m. 

Police advise to treat blacked-out intersections as if stop signs are present. 

As of midnight, about 14 customers reported power outages in Mt. Juliet.
