Mr. Todd, 78, of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Edward was born in Doyle, Tenn., on May 27, 1935, son of the late Sadie P (Dodson) and Dewey McKinley Todd. He gave service to his country by serving in the U.S. Navy. During his working years, he was employed mainly as route salesman for Coca-Cola Company, Colonial Bread Company and Golden Flake Potato Chip Company. As route salesman, this allowed him to meet many people who easily became his friends that were life-long.
During working years and after retirement, he was a minister of the Gospel, serving as pastor at many churches both in Macon, Ga. and Cookeville along with others around the Mid Tennessee area. He served as Hospice Chaplain for Lazarus House and HouseCall for 13 years. He served as pastor of the Hilham Church of God for nearly 40 years.
His life was dedicated to God and due to his love for God and sharing the Word to all he came in contact with he was able to bring many souls to Christ. He was full of compassion, tenderness, care for everyone, family, friends and even strangers who soon became friends. With his life lived and having now gone to his heavenly home, may these words bring comfort and joy to all who knew him..."May the Work I've Done - Speak For Me".
