Funeral services for Mrs. Singleton will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Pedigo and Bro. Bo Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Leeville Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 3–7 p.m. and Sunday after noon at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Singleton, 88, of the Leeville community, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 at Quality Care. Born April 23, 1925, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Tom Towns Lanius and Addie Leona Harris Lanius. She was an avid basketball player in her youth. She was a homemaker and an active volunteer in the Leeville community and also was a substitute school teacher. She was a member of the Leeville United Methodist Church and was a part of the Gideons, Leeville Demonstration Club, United Methodist Women and the Leeville Senior Citizens. For many years she organized the Leeville Cemetery Memorial Service and also volunteered at the Wilson County Help Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Homer Singleton Jr.; half-sister, Thelma Bell; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Singleton.

She is survived by four children, Suzanne (Dave) Davidson of Mt. Juliet; Philip Singleton of Texas, Mike (Mary) Singleton and Tony (Janice) Singleton all of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Amanda (John) Butler of Texas and Lisa Pirozzolo of Mt. Juliet and her children, Tori and Gracie and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild by marriage.

Mike, Philip, Terry and Tony Singleton, Dave Davidson, Bryson Whiteaker and Thomas Northcutt will serve as pallbearers.
