Mrs. Barnett’s remains rest at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home at 241 West Main Street in Lebanon, where family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, from 9-11 a.m. Bro. Donald Owens will officiate, and interment will follow at the Leeville Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnett, age 99, of Big Canoe, Ga. and formerly of Lebanon, passed way Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Canton Nursing Center in Canton, Ga.
She was born May 25, 1914 in Sparta. She was a longtime resident of Leeville and Lebanon. She worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of Twin States Iris Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Alice Trobaugh; her husband of 49 years, Sam Barnett; sister, Agnes Goddard; brothers, Lavaughn, Carl and Harry Trobaugh.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Barbara) Barnett, of Big Canoe, Ga.; her granddaughters, Nancy Barnett (Rick) Aranson, of Alpharetta, Ga., Carol Barnett of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Danny Aranson, as well as niece, Marie Trobaugh Williams, of Lebanon, and nephew, Dr. John Trobaugh, of Naples, Fla., as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Colorado.
Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home of Lebanon is in charge of all arrangements.
