Raymond G. Wright

Funeral services for Mr. Wright will be Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Brother Carl Price and Brother Kevin Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday after 9 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.

Mr. Wright, age 90, of Laguardo, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Christian Care Center in Smyrna.

Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Joseph Fred and Maggie Egan Wright. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1941. He was a lifelong farmer and had worked as a supervisor at the Baptist Sunday school board. He was a member of Laguardo Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He owned the Graves Wright Century Farm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Young Wright in 1995; sister, Mary Alice Wright; and two brothers, Ellis Wright and Joe Wright.

He is survived by three children, Joe (Nina) Wright, Emmie Lou (Nelson) Steed, Ami Fry; brother, Glen (Jeanne) Wright; seven grandchildren, Tommy (Bethany) Wright, Alicia (Derek) Whited, Connie (Stephen) Massey, Donnie (Amy) Steed, Carrie Fry, Britta Fry, Austin Fry; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Wright, Derek Whited, Chase Meador, Austin Fry, Dusty Meador, Caleb Massey, Stephen Massey and Donnie Steed.

Memorials may be made to the Laguardo Baptist Church building fund.
