Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson, 86, of Mt. Juliet, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Strong officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 7 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Thompson passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at the Summit Medical Center. Allie Godsey Thompson was born on Dec. 19,1926 in Gainesboro, Tenn. to the late Atie E. and Celina (Warren) Godsey. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Thompson; sister, Carmie Lawhorne; and brother, Junior Godsey.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Pyron of Mt. Juliet; brother, A.C. Godsey of Tallahassee, Fla.; and sister, Clay Ford of Goodlettsville; three grandchildren, Sherry Carr, Ray Pyron and Richard Pyron; and eight great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
