Funeral services for Mr. Carver were Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry Fesler officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Westmoreland. Visitation was Thursday after 9 a.m.

Mr. Carver, 87, of Lafayette, passed away Dec. 15, 2013. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Sam and Pearl Lou Swindle Carver. He was a mechanic and an avid guitar player.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and James Carver.

He is survived by two sons, Doug (Sherry) Carver, Johnny (Alice) Carver; daughter, Jean (Jose) Garcia, of Florida; four grandchildren, Kevin (Lori) Carver, Brandy and Jonathan Carver, Regina Hampton, of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kaylea Carver; sister, Virginia Bybee; and two brothers, Earl Carver and Larry Swindle.
