Funeral services for Mr. Weston will be conducted Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Alan Herd officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Weston, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, died Jan. 20, 2014.
Mr. Weston was retired from the Bell South System/AT&T. He was a lifelong farmer and a charter member of the Mt. Juliet Lions Club. Mr. Weston was a local politician serving from 2002 to present as a Wilson County Commissioner. He served as a Mt. Juliet City Commissioner from 1985-97. He was currently serving on the Cable TV Committee, Minutes Committee, Stearing Committee and the Public Works Committee. He had previously served on the Rules Committee and the Back Taxes Committee.
Mr. Weston was the son of the late Thomas Ernest and Nell Osment Weston. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Tom E. Weston, Charles M. Weston, Margaret W. Brown, Mary W. Johnston and Eddie Nell Greeson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty N. Weston; sons, Freddie M. (Trudie) Weston Jr., Ricky (Randi) Weston; daughters, Beverly (Billy) Young, Lynn W. (Charlie) Cooperider; grandchildren Kenny (Amanda) Dunnavant, Brooke W. (Jonathan) Hines, Brett (Morgan) Terry, Ian Terry, Wesley Dunnavant, Ben Dunnavant, Ethan (Jessica) Weston, Billy Young, III, Bobby (Julie) Young, Kelli (Andy) Lacy, Tyler (Christina) Cooperider, Kayla Cooperider; great-grandchildren, Weston Hines, Pressley Hines, Wyatt Terry, Jacob Dunnavant, Savannah Dunnavant, Lilly Cooperider, Brayden Lacy, Lucas Lacy; several nieces; nephews; and is four-legged pal, Cummins.
