Jewell Seay

Funeral services for Miss Seay will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at noon at Peyton Road Church of Christ with Brother Patrick Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. at Neuble Monument Funeral Home and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service time.  Interment will be at Wilson County Memorial Park.

Miss Seay, 63, of Mt. Juliet, died Jan. 31, 2014 in Nashville.

Miss Jewel Seay was born April 18th 1950 to the late Mentlow and Tennie Seay.  She was a member of the Peyton Road Church of Christ.  She was a graduate of Wilson County High School, Cumberland University and Middle Tennessee State University.  Miss Seay was an early childhood educator at Byars Dowdy Elementary School in the Lebanon Special School District for 26 years.  Miss Seay devoted her life to teaching and left a lasting impression on the many students she taught as well as her collogues.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Vashawna Faye Seay; eight siblings, JacQue Seay Gordon, of Rochester, Minn., Michael “Woody” (Annie) Seay, of Lebanon, Tommy (Faye) Turrentine Jr., Willie “Bubba” (Susie) Turrentine, Thelma Fleming, all of Columbia, Vera Stockard, of Nashville, Mary (Herb) Turrentine-Whitehead, of Chicago, Henry Dale Turrentine, of North Carolina; two nephews, Stefan Yusef Gordon, Michael Xavier Seay; one niece, Jamela Gordon; one great-niece, Za’Myra Gordon; three aunts, Katherine Peacock, Bettie Pleasant, both of Mt. Juliet, Dorothy Figgins, of LaGuardo; a host of cousins; relatives; and friends.
