James ‘Jim’ Deatrick Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Deatrick will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel with Brother August Ruff officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 one hour prior to service time at Bond Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Deatrick, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, died Feb. 13, 2014.

Mr. Deatrick was an active member of Green Hill Church of Christ. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had 41 years of military service in the USAF and the Air National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Nashville and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Mr. Deatrick was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Williams Deatrick; son, James “Jimmy” Deatrick Jr.; brothers, Donald Deatrick, Robert Deatrick; sisters, Dorothy Mattert, Lillian McDonald and Ruth Butz.

Active pallbearers will be Lane Wilson, Houston Stanton, Robert Evans, Richard Kendall, Ron Nunley and Marion Nunley. Honorary pallbearers will be U.S. Postal Service employees and the Tennessee Air National Guard.
