Quenten Bennett

Graveside services for Mr. Bennett will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mike Ripski officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 12:45 p.m. at Partlow Funeral Chapel.  

Mr. Bennett, age 95, died peacefully March 23, 2014 at Harriman Care & Rehab Center in Harriman.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Eliza Bennett; wife, Maxine C. Bennett; son-in-law, Gary A. Clayborne; brothers, Kermit and Theodore Bennett; and sisters, Virginia Schadenbrand and Marjorie Prill.  

He is survived by his daughter, Linda D'Ann Bennett Clayborne, and several nieces and nephews.  

Mr. Bennett was born in Detroit, Mich. As a teenager, he attended the Henry Ford Trade School earning a degree in mechanical engineering. He served as an instructor at the trade school until its closing. In 1960, Mr. Bennett, wife and daughter moved to Lebanon, where he helped build the Ross Gear/TRW plant. He enjoyed his career at the plant, especially his opportunity to instruct many students in the apprentice program. Mr. Bennett retired in 1983. Quenten was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.  He was a faithful member of Lebanon First United Methodist Church, where he served on many boards and committees. His most passionate love was serving as "general handyman" and mentoring children and youth of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Lebanon's First United Methodist Church.
