Mary Louise Claiborne

A memorial service and celebration of life for Mrs. Claiborne will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Lebanon First United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 2 p.m. until the service time. 

Mrs. Claiborne, age 71, of Lebanon, died Friday morning, March 28, 2014 at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Born at Saulsbury, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Isabell Parkerson Stephens. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and retired from Robertshaw Lux Time in 1982. Louise was a member of the Lebanon First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Bryant Claiborne; daughters, Sherry Powell and her husband, Jeremy, and Tonya Kirby and her husband, Thomas Jr.; grandchildren, Ashley (Derrick) Johnson, Thomas Kirby III, Dustin Powell, John (Katie) Powers and a great-granddaughter, Journee Faith Powers, (due May 2) all of Lebanon; brothers, Jerry (Linda) Stephens and James (Debbie) Stephens, both of Watertown; sisters, Betty (Marvin) Vandygrift, of Lebanon, and Sue (Carter) House, of Alexandria; brother and sisters-in-law, Sam and Doris Gilmore, of Bethpage, Bobby and Lillian Cothron, of Hartsville; aunts, Ruby and Sherry Parkerson; numerous nieces; nephew; and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial gifts to the Lebanon First United Methodist Church, The Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Wilson County Relay for Life, Sherry's Run or a cancer charity of your choice.
