Mr. Ben Walden Hamlet, age 78, of Castalian Springs, died Tuesday morning, May 27, 2014 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alma Hamlet; wife, Madeline Hamlet; two brothers, Bernice and John Hamlet.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linnie Mai Gillihan, of Castalian Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Kimberly (Nils) Johansen, of Gallatin, Mrs. Cindy (Thomas) Lowery-Murfreesboro; stepdaughter, Mrs. Janice (Clifton) York, of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Kayla (Steven) Giles, Rachel, Brittany, Candaus Lowery; step-grandchild, Michael (Emily) York; three step-great-grandchildren, Phenix, Damian and Urijah; sisters, Mrs. Barbara Davenport, of Hendersonville, Mrs. Carolyn (Rellon) Maxwell, of Gallatin, and Mrs. Wanda Boone of Red Boiling Springs.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2 p.m., conducted by Elder Joe Porter and Brother Floyd Farris.

Pallbearers will be Mike Davenport, Rellon Maxwell Jr., Tommy Cox, Jimmy and Don Hamlet and Tony Keisling.

Interment will be in Hartsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be from Thursday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
