Claude Swain Harris

Visitation for Mr. Harris will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 1-6 p.m. at the Gladeville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be Monday June 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. with visitation from noon until the service at Gladeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Youngman, the Rev. Robert Spickard and Dr. Emmit Rawls will officiate.  Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harris, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at The Gardens at Providence Place.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guill Alden and Jenny Ruby Harris; and wife, Nelda Eddins Harris.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Denise) Harris, Keith (Denise) Harris, both of Mt. Juliet, Stephen (Jamie) Harris, of Morrison; sister, Martha Jane (Robert W. "Billy") Cook; grandchildren, Eric Harris, Drew Harris and Haley Harris.  

Mr. Harris was a member of Gladeville United Methodist Church.  He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture with 37 years of service, where he served as a senior marketing specialist and a livestock grader.  He was also a member of the Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame. His love of livestock and people carried him across the state of Tennessee to make many friends.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gladeville United Methodist Church Building Fund, Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame or your local FFA or 4-H organization. Friends and co-workers will serve as pallbearers.
