Funeral services for Mrs. Walden-Thurman will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Buddy Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Robertson County Memorial Gardens with Roger Thurman, Willie Darrow, Paul E. Darrow, James Darrow, Christopher Lynn Walden and John Walden serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. and again Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Walden-Thurman, age 55, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Walden-Thurman was born June 6, 1959 in Springfield to the late Calvin and Shirley Biggs Grant. She worked as a security guard and caregiver and loved attending Bible studies at the Church of Grace in Nashville where she was a member.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walden-Thurman is preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Grant.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Thurman; sons, Willie A. Darrow III, Paul E. (Amy Lynn) Darrow and James B. Darrow, all of Springfield, Christopher Lynn (Ashley) Walden, of Greenbrier; daughters, Lacy N. Walden, of Clarksville, Natalie K. Walden, of Greenbrier; brothers, Calvin Grant Jr., of Portland, Billy R. Grant, of Cedar Hill; sisters, Loretta Garrison, Mary A. Garrison, of Springfield; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
