Everett ‘Eg’ G. Dye

Services for Mr. Dye will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 6 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with visitation from 4 p.m. until the service. Dr. Larry Locke will officiate.  A graveside service will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Wilson County Memorial Park. The Rev. Robert Dye will officiate.

Mr. Dye, age 81, of Lebanon, passed away May 23, 2015.  

He was born Aug.  23, 1933 in Corpus Christi, Texas and was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He resided in several states while pursuing a 38-year career with General Electric Capital. Mr. Dye was a lifelong volunteer, involved in community activities.  He was particularly proud of his eight years of service with the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Co. in Bethel, Ct. He believed in the importance of education and contributed to various organizations in Lebanon.  He also served as a volunteer for the United Way in both Jacksonville, Fla. and Lebanon.  

He is survived by his children, Deborah Getchell, of Venice, Fla., the Rev. Robert Dye, of Muskogee, Okla., John Dye Sr., of Jacksonville, Fla., Gordon Dye, of Hermitage; grandchildren, Amanda, Robyn, Christa, Chanler, John Dye Jr., Ann Sutton, Ainsley, Nichols, Caroline, Sara, Abigail, William; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Isabella and Brady.  

 In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given in his memory to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and United Way of Wilson County.
