Leonard Byrn Nabors

Funeral services for Mr. Nabors will be Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home with Pastor John Hunn, Brother Donald Owens and Brother W.D. Tomlinson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the service time. Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow the service in Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria.

Mr. Nabors, age 75, of Watertown, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 27, 2017 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville.

Born Feb. 15, 1942 in Hickman, he was the son of the late Johny and Willette Thomas Nabors and was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Nabors.

Leonard was a 1961 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and attended Belmont College thru his junior year. He was licensed and ordained as a Southern Baptist minister. He also was the director of the Anchor Home for Young Men at the Nashville Rescue Mission. His goal in life was to always serve God and win as many souls to Jesus as he could. He never met a stranger. Family was a very important part of his life.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ogle Nabors, of Watertown; children, Michael Glenn (Tracy) Nabors, of Brush Creek, Steven Wynn (Lisa) Nabors, of Mt. Juliet, Cynthia Gwynn Nabors, of Watertown; grandchildren, Michael Wesley Nabors, David Michael Nabors; bonus grandchildren, Jeremy (Shannon) Adcock, Hunter Adcock, Bryson Jones; brother, William T. (Linda) Nabors, of Chester, Virginia; sisters, Mary Evelyn Justice, of Watertown, Freda Marie Boles, of Grant; and nieces and nephews.
