New Leash on Life extended an invitation to the public to the grand opening of the new Joy Clinic, a spay and neuter facility for dogs and cats.

An open house will be Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. at the clinic at at 507 Jim Draper Blvd., next to the New Leash on Life adoption center.

The new clinic will be available for all cats and dogs 4 months old or older that weigh at least 4 pounds.

The open house will start off with an introduction and prayer. Tours of the facility will be available with explanations of the procedure and recovery.

Wilson County Commissioner Joy Bishop funded the new clinic with a $700,000 donation and will be on hand for the open house.

“The open house sets off a great start to the new clinic, and it gives off a positive impact on the community,” said New Leash director Angela Chapman. “It is also a good way to share the clinic with the public.”

New Leash on Life will also accept donations for its $1,000 goal to match a recent grant it received.
