Wilson County native and lifelong resident Felicia Plumlee Hale announced her candidacy for Wilson County circuit court clerk.
“With 16 years as a deputy clerk with the circuit court clerk’s office, I have the experience to keep the office running smoothly and the knowledge of where improvements can be made,” said Hale, who has an accounting degree from Excell Business College. “I will work to make the records of the circuit court clerk’s office more accessible to the public through technological improvements and also to improve fiscal accountability. It is my desire to serve the people of Wilson County as a good steward of the office.
“I appreciate the educational and work opportunities afforded to me as deputy clerk, and I feel that experience makes me uniquely qualified for the office of circuit court clerk.
“As a small business owner, I appreciate the value of a dollar and am well aware that people work hard for their money and deserve accountability and transparency in government offices. I will always manage the budget at the clerk’s office as efficiently as possible.”
Hale said she takes courses through the administrative office of the court to remain up to date and certified in the operations of the office.
“I’m not a stranger to hard work. I worked all through high school and college, including working in the business office at Walmart doing accounting,” she said. “I also worked for 17 years on the dairy farm of my former father-in-law, Billy Rowland.”
In addition to her position as deputy clerk, Hale owns Plum Elegance, an event planning and decorating company. She is a charter member and secretary of the Lebanon Noon Lions Club, serves on the Wilson County Fair Board and is an ambassador for the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of Leeville United Methodist Church and a former Wilson County Jaycee.
She has three daughters, Ashley Rowland Guy, Amber Rowland and Alivia Rowland Pendleton, three granddaughters and a fourth granddaughter on the way. She is the daughter of Wilson County residents Dallas and Lillian Plumlee and has a sister and a brother, Natalyn Plumlee Slaughter and Darin Plumlee.
Her campaign committee includes treasurer Linda VanAtta, of Mt. Juliet. Hale invites voters to visit feliciaforcircuitclerk.com for more information or follow her on Facebook at Felicia Plumlee Hale for Wilson County Circuit Clerk.
