Lebanon family businessman Nick Hays announced he will seek election to be Wilson County’s trustee.
“As a lifelong Wilson County resident, there is no other place I would want to work or raise a family,” Hays said. “For that reason, I want to serve this wonderful community as its trustee.”
Kathy Haskins, another Wilson County native, will serve as Hays’ campaign treasurer.
Hays accepted a scholarship and attended Cumberland University after high school. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Middle Tennessee State University. He said his interest developed at that time to serve in local government.
“Following my education, I began managing sales for a local, family-owned business in Lebanon where I have continued my work for 11 years,” Hays said. “Working in a local business has afforded me the opportunity of realizing the importance of every office, no matter the size, working together as a team is essential to achieving the greatest results.”
Hays coached several youth baseball and basketball teams and currently serves on the Lebanon Youth Baseball Committee. He and his family are active members of Maple Hill Church of Christ.
“This community has served me in a great number of ways for many years, and now it is my turn to serve this community,” Hays said.
Hays wife, Brandy, is a teacher at Sam Houston Elementary School, and the couple has three children, Brody, Cooper and Hadley.
“You have learned a little more about me,” Hays said. “I would like to take the time to learn a little more about you. Please join me March 13 from 5-8 p.m. for our kickoff in the education building at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. Stop in to get a bite to eat, and feel free to come and go as you please.”
