Wilson Democrats to open headquarters

The Wilson County Democratic Party Executive Committee will open a headquarters from June 1 until Nov. 15.  

The site will be at 308 E. Main St. in Lebanon, next door to the Wilson County Courthouse and just down from the Wilson County Election Commission office. 

“We are planning to have the headquarters open routinely from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays,” said Marilyn Bryant, Wilson Democrat Party first vice chair. “On Saturdays, it will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.”  

The headquarters will be available for voter registration, voter education, meetings of the party and Democratic Women and activities, which will support Democrat candidates.

A grand opening of the headquarters will be June 14. 

The last day to register to vote for the August election will be July 8. 

A candidate forum, sponsored by the Wilson County Democratic Women, will be July 10 at the pavilion at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. 

The first day of early voting is July 18. An early voting breakfast will be July 19 at Democrat headquarters. Another early voting breakfast for Democrats will be July 26 at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet. 

The last day to request an absentee ballot is July 31. Early voting ends Aug. 2 for the Aug. 7 general election. 

Democrats will also have a booth at the Wilson County Fair from Aug. 15-23. 

Wilson County Democrats are encouraged to participate in the activities, from planning the specifics of an event to attending the events, Bryant said.
