Friendship falls 8-1, 9-4

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Friendship Christian got off on the wrong foot on its spring break trip as Hatton (Town Creek, Ala.) jumped to an early lead in an 8-1 win Monday.

Hatton jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and added its final score in the second.

Friendship finished with three hits while giving up just four, but committed six errors. The Lady Commanders scored their run in the fifth inning.

FCS followed with a better start against Phoenix City Central but fell 9-4.

The Lady Commanders jumped to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. But Phoenix City scored five times in the bottom half and four in the second.

Phoenix City outhit Friendship 8-7. Hannah Alexander and Riley Walker each had a pair of hits for the Lady Commanders.
